I'm excited for this new year! It's going to be a good one, I can feel it! We're trying to be more social and get out of the basement more often. January was a success! We were able to go visit some friends. One Sunday evening we went down to Springville to Ariel and Brian Hortin's for dinner and games. We took down some cream cheese chicken and rice and they provided a side and dessert. Funny story, they made brussels sprouts! For those of you that know me, you are probably laughing right now. BUT, I was a brave soul and tried them...and...not my favorite thing in the world, but at least I tried. Their little girl, Emily, is so adorable and getting so big!!! She was so fun to hold and cuddle, love that little girl. Once she was down for the night, well, kind of, we played Scattergories and Bananagrams, two of my favorite games :) It was a fun night with friends! Thanks for having us over Ariel and Brian!!!
One Saturday night we headed to Provo to hang out with Mary and Colton Hickman. Of course that day it had to snow, but that didn't stop us, we can handle it! Mary made lasagna and garlic bread and it was DELICIOUS!!! I gotta learn how to make me some of that. Then we had some cookies. It was fun to catch up and chat, then we went to a movie. When we got into their car there was a puddle on the floor of the front passenger seat! It was hilarious! Mary got her leg workout as she sat there trying to stay dry. Anyway. Colton treated us to "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" and some popcorn (my favorite) courtesy of his manager position. He's great! These kids really hooked us up tonight! Don't worry, I love them for more than that! The movie was really good. Then we headed back to their place and played Phase 10 and had hot chocolate. We had fun and talked and laughed. They're so great! Thanks for having us down, friends!

My last hand, to finish the round and tie with Landen for first place, since we weren't able to finish the game...it was way too late! It was meant to be!!! (Just to let you into my mind a little: I just noticed that top WILD card is upsidedown and it is driving me crazy! I was too tired to notice when I took the picture. Grr...)
While we were there we had talked about how they want to get a table cloth for their glass table because it gets dirty so fast but they haven't been able to find one they liked yet. I had seen some at Wal-mart on clearance that were just plain and simple...so on our way home we stopped by and picked one up for them! We dropped it off the next day when we were coming home from my brother's. Just a little thank you for everything the night before!
Last Saturday we were able to go to lunch with Tiva and Ryan! It was a spur of the moment thing and was so fun! I always love hanging out with them!!! Then we headed down to Springville and babysat for Jared and Megan. We had fun with the kids. Nathan and Rylie were good, we had fun playing and watched "Mulan." They are my favorite kids to watch movies with because they sit there so enthralled...it's adorable. Maya's a good little baby and I just love spending time with her. It was a fun night with the kids, then we hung out Jared and Megan when they got home. It's so great to have them so close! I love being down there :)
So yes, January was a success for our social lives. I forgot how fun it was to hang out with friends! We gotta keep this up!!!
